The new year is upon us which means everyone has been speculating what the biggest wedding trends will be for 2023. We are no different in that we have been scouring the internet for all of the creative, professional opinions in the industry publishing their thoughts. Take a look at the first five trends we’ve sourced below + stay tuned for part two in the coming weeks!
Tableside Charcuterie Boards
While we can’t say this is an entirely new trend, it is of the opinion of many that these extravagant and absolutely beautiful sprawling charcuterie boards will remain top of mind for the 2023 wedding industry - and can we be the first to say, we are here for it.
These full tables provide guests with a beautiful variety of foods that will please any palette (or dietary restriction.) With the added bonus of having a stunning statement piece for your guests to be in awe of and your photographer to run wild with.
Flash + Film Photography
This trend is largely influenced by TikTok (as so many things are nowadays)! The New York Post cited that “this style of shooting allows couples to flaunt their personalities (think: paparazzi shots), especially when the flash takes on a spontaneous vibe.” We have even heard as of late that couples are opting to hire multiple photographers to have a variety of film styles in their memory books - one more “traditional” wedding photographer and one that specializes in flash or film photography.

Elegant Nostalgic Foods
Brides.com notes that in 2023 “couples will fuse nostalgia with elegance and create menus nodding to comfort foods and kitschy favorites. Whether it's reinvented Monte Cristo sandwiches, a groom's Grandpa's famed smoked salmon mousse, or favorite after-school snacks like cinnamon toast, chefs will love the notion of breathing new creativity into these favorite menu items…”

Live wedding painter
This is not a new trend but it is widely assumed that this trend will become even more popular in the coming year. 2023 couples will look to local artists to capture their big day in the most beautiful and unique way! Having an exquisite piece of art to always remember your wedding day is a beautiful gift to give yourselves (or maybe even to gift a special couple getting married this year - with approval of course)!

Secret Cocktail Menu
Our friends at The Knot posed what we think is an amazing new trend for 2023 - a secret cocktail menu! “Secret menus, typically with one or two signature cocktails, can be a clever way to have fun with your guests. We've heard of couples spreading the word to their wedding party members and then letting it trickle down to their guests or putting a hint about the secret menu at the bottom of their wedding website” (The Knot).
We’re really hoping this trend takes off - what a fun way to “gamify” your wedding just a little bit and get all of your guests in on the action. We think this is such a sweet idea (plus an easy way to save on a few custom signs). :)
