Top 2023 Wedding Trends - Part Two

As promised, we’re delivering part two of our top wedding details that are predicted to be wildly popular in the coming year! For all the newly engaged and industry professionals alike - we have poured over the articles and have this nice little digest for you. Don’t forget to check out Part One if you missed it!

#6 - Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses

We don’t just mean different styles, but different styles + color - any shape or size - we are seeing this trend slowly build into a fully mix + match situation. Of course, there are still usually a few requests from the bride such as a certain color palette or general aesthetic. But at the end of the day, we are loving the variety and spice this adds to a couple’s big day (and their photographs).

#7 - Wedding parties vs. “bridal” parties

To keep on the “wedding party” topic, as mentioned by Bridal Musings in a recent article, we’re seeing a big increase in moving away from the traditional “groomsmen” and “bridesmaids.” While it was typical to have men on one side and ladies on the other, 2023 couples are officially calling the shots and having both men + women on each side! We love the breaking of traditions on this one when we see brothers, sisters, and childhood friends stand behind their loved ones regardless of gender!

#8 - Houseplants as wedding decor

If you are a couple with green thumbs, get pumped about this 2023 trend: house plants as decor! While, fiscally, this might be a bit expensive, it might be the perfect solution to one of two things!

  1. You could use all of the plants you buy as decor to decorate your first home as a married couple, or:

  2. You could use the plants as a memento for your guests to take home, so nothing goes to waste!

Either way, this trend is amazing and we are taking no further questions.

#9 - Disposable Cameras at Guest Tables

This is the CUTEST trend that has popped in and out of weddings for years, but according to Insider, it is making a massive comeback in 2023. While, of course, not every photo is going to be a winner, it is such a fun way to see your wedding through the eyes of your loved ones! Plus, you might get a few fantastic photos out of it (aside from the amazing ones your professional photographer will take, of course!)

Pro tip: We’ve heard of couples saving all of their disposable cameras and developing them on their first anniversary as a fun and positively adorable way to relive the day and, we’re sure, get a few laughs!

#10 - Mocktails

With more and more people going alcohol-free, the mocktail is officially trending in weddings + beyond! Consider adding a few non-alcoholic (but still extra special) beverages to the menu to have a little something for everyone, no matter how they choose to celebrate! Plus, this is the perfect answer for any couple worried about drinking too much and forgetting bits and pieces of their big day - whoops! (No shame either way.)
