Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas will be here before we know it - that means the Greater Indianapolis area is about to explode with holiday cheer! Being in the event business, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorite holiday events happening in and around the city for you to put on your radar!

The Festival of Trees

Although this may seem like a shameless plug as the exclusive caterers of our friends at the Indiana Historical Society - we would have this event at the top of our list either way! Head downtown to the IHS to visit their magical wonderland full of festive rees! Their holiday set-up features 75 exquisite holiday-themed trees with a grand finale 30-foot show-stopper that will leave you speechless.

One of Indy’s most honored holiday traditions - the Circle of Lights! Indianapolis rings in the holiday season the day after Thanksgiving (November 25) beginning at 6:30pm with the annual lighting of our Christmas Tree! This gorgeous spectacle is free and available 24/7 to take a stroll around and enjoy the scenery and holiday cheer. (Pro-tip: go get a delicious hot chocolate from South Bend Chocolate Company in the circle to add to the magic!)

CHRISTKINDLMARKT

2 Locations: Carmel City Center • Nov. 19 - Dec. 30 & The Athaneum (Mass Ave) • Nov. 25 - Dec. 18

This exceptional German-centered festival is expanding throughout Indianapolis this year! We know (and love) the award-winning Christkindlmarkt that has taken place in the Carmel City Center outside of The Center for Performing Arts throughout the years - complete with delicious drinks, snacks, gifts, and ice skating! We’re excited to announce that there will be a second Christkindlmarkt this year in downtown Indianapolis! Right by the Rathskeller in the heart of Mass Ave’s arts district - you will be able to enjoy music, warm raclettes, gluhwein and plenty of platzchen with friends and family!

Be sure to check out the specific days each Christkindlmarkt is open - as they can vary!
